Four CRPF troopers were killed and one grievously injured when a fellow trooper opened fire at them at a CRPF camp in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Saturday evening.
The injured trooper has been flown to capital Raipur for medical treatment.
DIG P. Sunderaj said the incident occurred in Bijapur district's Basguda camp of the CRPF's 168 battalion.
Constable Santkumar opened fire on his colleagues, in which Sub-Inspectors V.K. Sharma and Megh Singh, and Assistant Sub Inspector Rajvir and constable G.S. Rao were killed on the spot. One constable was also seriously wounded.
He said Santkumar has been arrested and the reason for the shooting is under investigation.
