David D'Souza of Bengaluru notched up an emphatic win at the 20th edition of World Golfers Championship (WGC) which concluded at Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa last week.
Playing in the 0-5 handicap category, D'Souza shot a nett score of 284 to win the individual spoils amongst a total of 120 participants from 24 countries, according to a press release Tuesday.
It was D'Souza's third appearance at the prestigious WGC where he previously participated in 2009 and 2013.
Shyam Balasubramnya R. finished third in the 6-10 handicap category with a nett score of 290 while Dhanjay Das (11-15) was fifth with 290 and Indur Hirani (21-25) came in tied 14th with a score of 313.
In the team event, Corporate India comprising D'Souza, Balasubramanya, Das and Hirani finished eighth out of 24 countries with a combined nett score of 1,177 while South Africa won the team honours with 1,137 nett points.
The four-day competition was held at the Durban Country Club, Selbourne Golf Course, Mount Edgecombe Country Club and Umhlali Country Club.
