Describing his Davis Cup win as a "special" moment in his career, tennis legend Roger Federer Sunday said he waited for a long time to realise his ultimate dream.
"Davis Cup win was special. I waited for 15 years to lay my hands on the trophy. So the satisfaction was even greater," Federer said on the sidelines of his International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) debut for the Indian Aces.
The 17-time Grand Slam champion beat France's Gasquet 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 to give Switzerland a maiden victory in the Davis Cup final last month.
"Fans waited for the title for so long. We got a tremendous reception when we reached home with over 10,000 people welcoming us back home," he said.
