Close to 1.5 lakh students enrolled in IGNOU's community colleges are in for a major relief as the human resource development ministry Wednesday asked the university to declare results and issue certificates within 15 days.
The ministry asked the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) to "declare the results and complete the process of issuing certificate to the students", a statement said.
The ministry also asked IGNOU to "notify the examination schedule for those students who have completed their courses but are waiting to appear for the examination".
"Keeping the interest of approximately 1.5 lakh students, who had registered for IGNOU's community college development scheme, the ministry urged IGNOU to expedite and complete the action in next 15 days," an official statement said.
IGNOU had introduced the scheme that aims to empower individuals through appropriate skill development in 2009.
