The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party sounded the poll bugle by announcing over 11,000 "crack" teams which will work at the ground level in the assembly elections expected in November.
"The party is adopting the 'Back to the basics' philosophy in which party cadres at the polling booth level are slated to play the key role," said BJP's Delhi unit president Vijay Goel.
"In the assembly poll battle, there will be 11,763 crack teams comprising more than 3.5 lakh trained and well equipped party cadres," he added.
According to the party communique, these crack teams and party cadres will be activated through, meetings starting July 19 and continuing till August, in 280 mandals.
In the last 90 days in the run-up to the elections, a mammoth and unique city wide exercise would be carried out at the polling booth level.
"On every polling booth we are constituting a 32-member crack team. Around 10,000 teams are already in place," Goel said.
Saying that party cadres will expose the misdeeds of the Congress government and will mobilise common people at the household level, he added: "The BJP is a cadre based party. In our party, it is not the leader but the party cadres which contest elections."
