A Delhi Police constable and a scrap dealer were arrested here Wednesday for accepting a Rs.3.5 lakh bribe on behalf of two Haryana policemen for releasing a robbery suspect under their detention, an official said.
Sube Singh, 45, a Delhi Police constable posted at Hauz Khas police station in south Delhi, and Sarfaraz, 37, a scrap dealer, were arrested for accepting Rs.3.5 lakh for two policemen posted in Haryana Police's Crime Branch.
Sube Singh was arrested from his house in Sirhol village while Sarfaraz was nabbed from his house in Sikanderpur, said an official of Haryana's vigilance department.
Vinod Kumar, an assistant sub-inspector, and head constable Rajkumar, posted in Sector 10 Crime Branch of Haryana Police, had detained scrap dealer Islam from west Delhi's Dwarka in connection of a loot that took place in Gurgaon nearly three weeks ago.

"Zahir Ahmad, father of Islam, paid Rs.5 lakh July 21 to the two conduits but instead of releasing the accused, Vinod and Rajkumar formally arrested him," said Nehra.
