A Delhi criminal who had been evading arrest since he jumped parole in 2015 has been arrested here, the police said on Friday.
Ajay Dabas, 35, had at least 11 criminal cases registered against him and carried a reward of Rs 1.5 lakh on his head, a police official said.
Dabas, from Delhi, was arrested around 11.30 p.m. on Wednesday from south Delhi's Okhla area and a pistol was recovered from him, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya.
Dabas started committing crimes when he was studying in Class 10 and was later jailed, said Baaniya.
While out on bail in 2009, he, along with an associate, murdered four people in a day, for which he was sentenced to life, the officer said.
In 2015, Dabas jumped parole and had been avoiding arrest since then. He was neither using a mobile phone nor did he stay in touch with his family, according to the police.
