Several areas in the capital received showers Tuesday but the maximum temperature still remained a notch above average at 35.1 degrees Celsius. The Met Office has forecast more rains Wednesday.
A total of 32.8 mm of rainfall was recorded in the city between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. Tuesday, an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said. Barring a few places in the southern areas of the capital, the road traffic ran smoothly.
"Delhi will witness an overcast sky Wednesday and rain is expected in several parts of the city," the IMD official added.
Wednesday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 36 and 27 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature Tuesday settled at 28 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average. Humidity ranged between 95 and 69 percent.
Monday's maximum temperature touched 36.4 degrees Celsius -- three notches above the season's average, while the minimum settled at 26.8 degrees Celsius, which was average for this time of the year.
