In a major move to improve the infrastructure of rural villages in the national capital, the Delhi government on Thursday cleared 315 schemes worth Rs.480.99 crore.
The decision was taken in a meeting of Delhi Rural Development Board chaired by Rural Development Minister Gopal Rai.
The schemes will mainly cover improving roads, drains, water bodies, community centres, parks, cremation grounds, and play grounds, among others.
"The government will take all necessary steps to improve the condition of roads, parks, small drains and multipurpose community halls as well to ensure supply of water and electricity in all rural areas," Rai said after the meeting.
