Delhi Police gets Rs.5,373 crore for upgrading force

Delhi Police have been allocated about Rs.5,372.88 crore for upgrading the force during the 2015-16 financial year, according to the union budget presented by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley here Saturday.

Of this, Rs.390 crore has earmarked for plan and Rs.4,979.48 for non-plan expenditure.

An amount of Rs.7 crore has been allocated for developing the traffic and communications network in the National Capital Region's (NCR) mega cities and a model traffic system, while Rs.8 crore have been earmarked for installing traffic signals.

Rupees three crore have been given for upgrading training of the force. For the Nirbhaya fund, the force has been given Rs.3.40 crore.

The force has been allocated Rs.95 core for housing and Rs.246.50 for public works.
