A Delhi Police head constable has been booked for taking a bribe for not issuing a challan after a video recording of his act was sent to Delhi Police's helpline number, police said Friday.

The complainant, whose identity police have withheld, forwarded the video recording via WhatsApp to the vigilance helpline number 9910641064.

The helpline was started Aug 6 this year so people can file complaints against corrupt Delhi policemen.

The complainant made the recording Thursday.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered Thursday against head constable Ramachandran, attached to the traffic police, and an investigation is underway.

The video clip shows the head constable, wearing traffic police uniform, coming with an e-challan machine and a vehicle's registration certificate in hand.
