Sporadic rains, overcast sky and cool winds made for a pleasant Thursday in the capital. The city is likely to see more showers Friday.
"The sky will remain cloudy and rains are expected Friday," said an official of India Meteorological Department.
The maximum temperature Thursday was 34.4 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season, while the minimum settled a notch below average at 26.3 degrees Celsius and humidity wavered between a high and low of 94 and 69 percent.
A total of nine mm rainfall was recorded between 8.30 a.m. and 5.30 p.m.
According to Delhi Police, the rain led to flooding of roads and traffic jams at Badarpur, Mathura Road, outer Ring Road near Modi Flour Mills, Kalkaji, Ashram Chowk and Sarai Kale Khan in south Delhi, and Bhairon Marg in central Delhi.
Friday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 35 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
The national capital has recorded 406 mm of rain in the monsoon so far. This is 75 percent more than the average, the official said.
