It was a hot Friday in the national capital as the mercury soared to 44 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average, the Met Office said.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) would see some respite from the scorching sun on Saturday as there is a possibility of light rain and a thunderstorm.
"The maximum temperature reached 43.9 degrees though there will be a little relief tomorrow. The temperature may drop two degrees on Saturday," an IMD official said.
The minimum temperature on Friday was recorded at 29 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
The humidity oscillated between 18 per cent and 65 per cent.
Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 41.3 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season's average, and minimum temperature was recorded at 28.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
