Actor Akshay Kumar's courtroom drama film "Jolly LLB 2" had a successful day two at the ticket counters as it minted Rs 17.31 crore. The film's makers are happy with the response.
After garnering collections of Rs 13.20 crore on its opening day on Friday, the movie collected more moolah on the following day, taking the total to Rs 30.51 crore.
"The sign of a much loved film is that it shows incredible growth, and 'Jolly LLB 2' has done exactly that. After a phenomenal day one, this movie that has been loved by audiences and media alike, jumped 31.20 percent on day 2," Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios, said in a statement.
Produced by Fox Star Studios, the movie is directed by Subhash Kapoor. A sequel to the 2013 film "Jolly LLB", it features Akshay as lawyer Jagdishwar Mishra aka Jolly from Kanpur who practices law in Lucknow.
"Jolly LLB 2" also stars Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla and Annu Kapoor.
"It is a highly entertaining and thrilling family film and we are delighted to see the love for the film and the nation's hugely loved superstar Akshay Kumar," Singh added.
