Rail and air traffic was crippled for the second day Saturday as dense fog enveloped the Uttar Pradesh capital and nearby areas.
The early morning visibility was zero, affecting flights and arrival of trains at the Charbagh railway station, officials said.
The Met Office said it will continue to be foggy for the next two to three days.
Flight operations were affected Friday as well due to fog and poor visibility at the Amausi airport. A flight from Delhi was cancelled, while over half a dozen flights were delayed by several hours.
The morning Spice Jet flight between New Delhi-Lucknow was suspended Friday, while the Jet Konnect and Air India flight from Delhi, Indigo flight from Patna arrived late by several hours.
Operations of the Northern Railways and the North Eastern Railways were also crippled due to fog. Several trains such as Gwalior-Barauni Express, Gareeb Rath, Utsarg Express, Kota-Patna Express, Avadh Assam Express, Lucknow-Faizabad passenger train, Prayag-Bareily passenger train, Triveni Express, Nauchandi Express and Lucknow-Chandigarh Express were delayed.
The maximum temperature Friday plummeted 21.5 degrees Celsius, five degrees below the seaon's average, while the minimum was 7.8 degrees Celsius, slightly below the normal.
