Detroit Pistons have appointed Stan Van Gundy as the head coach and president of its basketball operations.
Van Gundy had a 371-208 overall coaching history in NBA. He led the Orlando Magic to the National Basketball Association (NBA) finals in 2009, reports Xinhua.
"Stan is a proven winner in our league," said Pistons owner Tom Gores in a statement.
"He instils his teams with passion, purpose and toughness. He is a great teacher who will help our players grow and develop," he added.
