Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, who has roped in rapper-singer Honey Singh to sing a song for his forthcoming production venture "Dedh Ishqiya", says he didn't sign the singer for monetary gains.

Written by lyricist Gulzar, the song has been picturised on Arshad Warsi's character Babban in the film helmed by Abhishek Chaubey. Singer Sukhwinder went behind the mic with Honey Singh for the song.

"Dedh Ishqiya", a sequel to 2010 film "Ishqiya", is a rustic drama set in a small town in Uttar Pradesh.

"As a producer and director (Chaubey), it is our choice. Nobody has forced us to sign Honey Singh for the song," Bhardwaj said here at the music launch of the film and added that he doesn't need "any singer for any monetary thing".

Considering the theme of the film and the kind of music that Honey Singh is known for, the two don't blend together. But Bhardwaj, who has composed music for the film, describes the song as a heady cocktail.

"I think the contrast of Yo Yo Honey Singh, my music and Gulzar saab's lyrics can be a very good cocktail for the film," he said adding that "the song will come out soon".

Featuring Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit in a pivotal role, "Dedh Ishqiya", set for Jan 10, 2014 release, also features Naseeruddin Shah and Huma Qureshi.
