Uruguay striker Diego Forlan has been signed by Japanese side Cerezo Osaka, the J-League club confirmed Thursday.
The 34-year-old forward is a two-time winner of the European Golden Boot, an award presented each season to the leading goalscorer in league matches from the top division of every European league, reports Xinhua.
He was also the winner of the Golden Ball Award as the most valuable player at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa
Forlan will leave Brazilian side Internacional to play for Cerezo Osaka which finished fourth in the J-League last season and have qualified for this year's Asian Champions League.
Forlan has played for European giants like Man United, Villarreal, Atletico Madrid and Inter Milan and has earned 107 international caps for Uruguay with 36 goals.
