Olympian gymnast Dipa Karmakar on Tuesday revealed that she has started her rehabilitation process after going under the knife for a knee injury.
Dipa had reportedly hurt her knee ligament while practicing Handspring Rudi (a vault variant) during a national camp at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium here and was immediately flown to Mumbai.
On Tuesday, Dipa posted on her Twitter account saying she suffered the injury during practice and is currently under rehabilitation.
"Hi everyone, There's an update. I picked up an injury during practice and underwent ACL surgery. The rehabilitation process has begun and I will be back soon," she wrote.
The Tripura girl is most likely to miss next month's Asian Championship in Thailand, for which the trials are scheduled for April 17 and 18.
