The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will organise a metro walk to enable residents and tourists explore the capital city by metro and experience the city's culture and heritage.
The metro walk titled 'Explore Delhi through Metro' will be organised on the occasion of World Tourism Day (September 27).
"The first walk is being organised from HUDA Metro station which will conclude at Chandni Chowk Metro Station," said Anuj Dayal, executive director, corporate communications, DMRC.
"During the walk, the participants will visit the Delhi Metro Museum at Patel Chowk. The museum has a collection of display panels, historical photographs and exhibits tracing the major milestones related to DMRC," he said.
He said that from Patel Chowk, the participants would take a metro ride to Shahjahanabad popularly known as 'Old Delhi' and explore Old Delhi's history, architecture and culture. The walk would conclude at Chandni Chowk Metro Station.
The charges for the walk would be Rs.1,056 per person.
Youngsters, aged 8-15, will be charged Rs.528 and children up to 8 will be able to walk free of cost. The walk will be held between 8 a.m. and 11.30 a.m.
