The minister was speaking at a workshop here on implementation of e-Office in central ministries and departments which was organised by the department of administrative reforms and public grievances (DARPG).

"E-office is something which has been happening for long. This is a global phenomenon. We are rather late in it," said Jitendra Singh, who is the minister of state (MoS) for personnel, public grievances and pensions.
The minister said the advantages of e-office or computerisation of office procedures will reduce red-tapism from the system.
Jitendra Singh added that over 60,000 files, which were of no use, have been digitised in his ministry alone.
