National broadcaster Doordarshan (DD) will telecast the 12-day "World University Games" scheduled to be held at Gwangju, South Korea, live for the first time.
The Games feature multi-sport events with international participation from university students. They start on Friday and stretch till July 14.
"DD Sports has worked out a marathon telecast plan of these games for the Indian sports lovers. This will include more than 180 hours of coverage starting from 3rd July to 14th July," said a Doordarshan release on Thursday.
"The telecast will include live action from ground zero, commentary from the scene of action and analysis and discussion on the game by a panel of experts," the release added.
The Games will feature more than 25,000 athletes from 170 universities of the world. Among the athletes, 13-14 are from India.
