Around three dozen school girls were poisoned in Afghanistan's Herat province on Monday, an official said.
"At least 35 girls were poisoned during the school hours on Monday. All the girls have been taken to hospitals for medical treatment," Xinhua quoted provincial police chief Abdul Majid Rozi as saying.
Herat province's Anjil city is 640 km west of Afghanistan capital Kabul.
Shafiq Shirzai, spokesman for Herat regional hospital, said the affected students are in stable condition now.
This is the sixth time in a week that school girls have been poisoned by spraying unidentified gas which makes the students feel dizzy.
