DTTDC has planned musical performances, sight-seeing tours and welcoming tourists with sweets and garlands to celebrate the World Tourism Day Saturday, a statement said Friday.
The day-long celebrations are aimed at spreading awareness on the role of tourism and its importance in social, economic and cultural spheres, the Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC) statement said.
All tourists visiting Delhi will be welcomed with sweets and garlands at all the information offices of DTTDC in the city which will be decked up with flowers and balloons to mark the occasion.
In addition, a sight-seeing tour for 100 blind students has also been organized. The students will be accompanied by guides.
In the evening, musical performances by bands of police and paramilitary forces at all three Dilli Haats will be held 6 to 7 p.m.
The World Tourism day is celebrated across the world Sep 27 since 1980.
