DU offline admission process to start from Friday

The offline registration for various undergraduate courses in Delhi University will start from June 5.

The university has set up eight admission centres besides a help desk to assist students and parents during the process.

"Admissions in Delhi University via the offline registration procedure will start from Friday, on June 5, 2015 onward. An official help desk of the university will be functional at the Conference Centre in North Campus to help students and parents," Deputy Dean of Students' Welfare G.S. Tuteja told IANS.

The university has set up eight centres for students to complete the admission procedure in various undergraduate courses. The last date for submission of admission forms is June 15.

"Offline forms will be accepted at the eight registration centres (colleges) till June 15," Tuteja said.

The centres are at Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College, Gargi College, Dayal Singh College, Maharaja Agrasen College, Rajdhani College, Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm College, Pannalal Girdharlal Dayanand Anglo Vedic College and Shyam Singh College.

The registration process for sports quota and extra-curricular activities (ECA) quota would also be available in the offline mode. It is expected that Delhi University would release the first cut-off list by June 25, he said.

The university began its online registration process on May 28, and over two lakh students have already registered.

"The total number of applicants who registered online is 2,00,411, of which 1,13,614 have made payments," Joint Dean of Students' Welfare Malay Neerav told IANS.

Giving details about the need for the offline process, Neerav said: "Offline registrations had to be arranged as students were facing issues with the limited subjects enlisted on the online application form."
