Ukrainian football club Dynamo Kiev beat Steaua Bucuresti 3-1 in a Group J match of the UEFA Europa League at the Olympic Stadium here, in front of 28,280 spectators.
The visitors controlled the opening period but things changed as soon as Dynamo switched their strategy from deep defence to counter-attacks. The Ukrainian side broke the deadlock (41st minute) when Andriy Yarmolenko hit the target with a one-touch shot after a free-kick cross by Younes Belhanda Thursday, reports Xinhua.
Dynamo established a 2-0 lead (66th) when Artem Kravets netted the ball but Steaua reduced the advantage with a header in the top right corner by Raul Rusescu (89th). After the goal, the Romanian side was able to create chances but failed to restore parity.
Instead, Dynamo's newcomer Lukasz Teodorczyk scored in the dying minutes of the game, sealing the win for the "white-blues".
With six points on the board, Dynamo leads the Group J standings while Steaua is level with Aalborg with three points and Rio Ave remains without a point.
