The Election Commission Saturday announced the "Wake up Jammu" campaign in an effort to increase voter participation in the Lok Sabha elections.
In an official statement, the Election Commission stressed on various voter awareness activities under the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme.
The "Wake up Jammu" campaign will be launched from a college in the city Monday.
"It's a unique kind of multi-pronged approach, which includes generation of voter awareness, promoting ethical voting and bringing the youth to the booths," the statement said.
Focussing on the youth through social media, the campaign will include other targets of the electoral process like collection of missing photographs of registered voters and enrollment of eligible people as voters.
Activities under the campaign, to be conducted mostly in colleges, will include on-the-spot enrollment of eligible voters, cake-cutting for new voters and taking pledge for voting.

Voter facilitation centres have been opened at HDFC Bank and J&K Bank branches.
There will be a special photo collection campaign in every ward of the Jammu Municipal Corporation area.
"For creating awareness through social media, a Facebook page has also been created -facebook.com/wakeupjammu," the statement said.
A 24x7 helpline at the number 1077 shall also be available to people wanting information on the campaign.
