At least eight people were killed and four others injured Monday when a group of suicide bombers attacked a district headquarter in Afghanistan's Helmand province, an official said.
"Four suicide bombers equipped with suicide vests and light arms attacked the district headquarters and police retaliated. The gun battle lasted for two hours," Akbar told Xinhua.
One suicide bomber blew himself up at the gate of the Gereshk district headquarters enabling three others to enter, the official said.
The injured included two policemen and two civilians.
