Mexico City, Oct 7 (IANS/EFE) At least eight people were killed and 67 others injured when a 'monster truck' hit spectators sitting in the stands at an air show in the northern Mexican city of Chihuahua, media reports said.
The driver of the vehicle, which has tires 1.5 meters (almost five feet) tall, was going over a pile of automobiles when he lost control Saturday evening and hit the stands, Chihuahua Mayor Marco Quezada said.
Four children are among the dead in the accident, media reports said.
All of the injured spectators are being treated at various hospitals, Chihuahua Governor Cesar Duarte said in a Twitter posting.
"The injured from the AeroShow are being treated on a priority basis at all hospitals in Chihuahua," Duarte said.
The monster truck's driver, identified as Francisco Velazquez Samaniego, 51, is under arrest, officials said.

"The state attorney general's office wants to reiterate that the corresponding investigation will be carried out to clear up the incident that left dozens of people injured and regrettably left several people dead," the Chihuahua state government said in a statement.
The accident occurred during the three-day Festival Extremo AeroShow, an event that features planes, balloons, motorcycle races and monster trucks.
