The police arrested two persons for killing an elderly man by dragging him with their two-wheeler in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district on September 29.
The State Human Rights Commission on Wednesday took cognizance of the case and issued notice to the Shahdol superintendent of police to submit details of the incident within three weeks.
The body of Babulal Yadav, 60, was found in Kotma village of Shahdol district on September 29.
Inspector Subhash Dwivedi said both the accused -- Keshav Yadav and Jethu Yadav -- were arrested late on Tuesday after a complaint from family members of the victim.
Land dispute is said to have led to the crime. Babulal Yadav died after his hands were tied and he was dragged by a motorcycle.
