English Football Association chairman Greg Dyke has called for "complete reform" of FIFA after recent corruption scandals, comparing the football governing body with a soap opera as every week brings something new in the world institution.

"It is like The Archers. Every week something is happening," Dyke said on Wednesday in reference to the radio series The Archers, which has aired in England six days a week since January 1951, reports Efe.

"I don't know where it ends. You need a completely reformed organisation because you can't carry on like this," the chairman insisted.

Dyke's remarks came two days after the resignation of Wolfgang Niersbach, president of the German Football Federation (DFB), against the backdrop of the scandal of a series of irregularities related to the 2006 World Cup bid, when Germany competed with England, South Africa and Morocco.

"You begin to be convinced almost no World Cups have been allocated without a pile of bungs," the FA chairman declared.
