Abu Dhabi, Sep 24 (IANS/WAM) Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) national carrier, has completed its biggest ever India recruitment drive ahead of its operational expansion in the country in December this year.
According to the airline, it received over 1,000 applications from men and women looking to join the airline's cabin crew division.
The drive, in Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi, successfully found the required 200 applicants who will be trained as Etihad Airways cabin crew.
"India will play an increasingly central part in the expansion of Etihad Airways and we are delighted that so many men and women are keen to join our ranks as members of cabin crew," Richard Hill, the airline's chief operations officer, was quoted Tuesday as saying.
The Abu Dhabi-based airline recently announced that it would increase flight frequencies, and introduce wide-bodied aircraft to India for the first time, with greater expansion set for 2014.
