Former Manchester City and Brazil international midfielder Elano said that he has agreed to extend his contract with Santos.
The 33-year-old has made 16 appearances, mainly as a substitute, since rejoining the club in January after a successful spell with Indian Super League outfit Chennaiyin, Xinhua reported.
It has been enough to convince Santos coach Marcelo Fernandes of his worth.
"We have already agreed. This is a club that I have a great affection for," Elano told Globoesporte.
"I can't say more because we still have to sign the contract. I can only say that it's positive for me and for Santos. I hope that the fans are happy too."
Capped 50 times for Brazil, Elano has won six trophies in three separate spells at Santos.
