Formula One team McLaren on Wednesday announced the resignation of racing director Eric Boullier and named Gil de Ferran as his replacement, following a poor start to the team's 2018 season.
In a further shake-up of McLaren's technical leadership team, Andrea Stella was named performance director, while Chief Operating Officer Simon Roberts is to take responsibility for production, engineering and logistics, reports Efe.
"I am very proud to have worked with such a brilliant team over the past four years, but I recognise now is the right time for me to step down," Boullier said in a statement.
McLaren has been unable to fight for podiums this season despite ditching Honda power units in favor of Renault, and are in sixth place in the Constructors' Championship with 44 points, while Ferrari holds the top spot with 247 points.
