A gang who illegally printed and sold tickets for Mark Six, a popular lottery organised by the Hongkong Jockey Club, has been busted in China's Guangdong province.

According to Foshan municipal public security bureau, 31 people were seized, two printworks shut down, and almost 200,000 pieces of paper collected in cities of Guangzhou, Foshan and Zhaoqing in May 28. It is the biggest case of its kind in the province, Xinhua quoted the police as saying.

The group leader manages primary, secondary ticket distributors, along with book and newspaper stalls. The draws take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, the group prints falsified lottery results and distributes them through the network.

A paper factory worker said they have illegally printed the papers for two years. During the period, they have produced 78 million pieces of paper with a market value of 200 million yuan (about $32 million).
