A court Saturday sent a Himachal Pradesh University official to police remand for two days for issuing a fake marksheet to his son, police said.
Police Friday arrested and registered a case against assistant registrar Bal Krishan Sharma on the complaint of the Students Federation of India president Rahul Chauhan.
He was booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
Sharma has been charged with issuing a fake marksheet of B.A. (third year) to his son Kartik Sharma. The irregularity came to light when Kartik submitted the detailed marksheet while applying for the post of a clerk in the university.
Vice Chancellor A.D.N. Bajpai has constituted a three-member committee to probe the matter.
