Striker Radamel Falcao asserted he still wants to stay at Manchester United next season despite his early difficulties at the club.

The Colombian insisted he wants a permanent deal at United after his 250,000 pound-a-week loan arrangement expires at the end of the season, reports dailymail.co.uk.

"We talk a lot, the coach and I. He has a philosophy that I respect. I have had an injury, and I have had to wait for the opportunity to play. From my point of view, yes I want to stay," Falcao said.

"Obviously I have to analyse the situation, see if I play more and see what decision the board takes. But I really want to stay."

The 28-year-old has only started in three English Premier League (EPL) games after suffering from injuries. He has only scored one goal for United so far.

There is a cloud of doubt whether he will be the first choice striker for manager Louis Van Gaal, as he has stiff competition from the likes of Wayne Rooney, Dutch Robin van Persie and the 19-year-old James Wilson.

Falcao also said he is now almost 100 percent fit and ready to play. "It felt good to play. I'm fully fit now. So, let's wait and see what the decision of the coach is and when he wants to use me more," he added.
