Farmers from various villages Saturday complained to Haryana Agriculture Minister O.P. Dhankar about the inadequate supply of fertilizers.

The minister assured them the issue would be addressed. Dhankar was addressing a public meeting in Surya Vihar.

When farmers from various villages came to know about the minister's visit, they reached the spot and complained that urea and di-ammonium phosphate (DAP) were not available in sufficient quantity.

Dhankar said that central government has issued 11 lakh tonnes of urea for Haryana, the maximum for a state in the country.

Three bags per acre are being given to farmers. He said that he will speak to union agriculture minister on the issue if needed.

He said that the BJP government was keen to implement Swaminathan Commission report on farmers.
