In a bid to preserve the musical heritage of India, the city of Agra is all set to host a music festival featuring an impressive lineup of artistes.
Organised by Architect Association of Agra and Round Table India Foundation, Agra Music Festival will be held at at Hotel Ramada Plaza on Saturday in the Taj city here.
Several leading singers will feature in the musical extravaganza, including the popular singer Aditi Singh, who is known for her renditions of songs like "Kho jaane do" and Rang laal". Besides Kutle Khan Project, Bandish Band and DJ Aqeel will also enthrall music lovers.
Renowned for its rich music heritage in ancient times with the likes of Tansen and Nauhar Bani, Agra is fast losing its presence in the musical space. This music festival, organised with the support of tourism department, attempts to reclaim the ancient status for the Taj city.
Festival curator DK Singh informed IANS that this event is being organised to fulfill this dearth for the residents of the city.
"Renowned across the world for the magnificience of the Taj Mahal, we wish to revive music in the city through our endeavour," Singh told IANS.

He also shared that a project was underway to construct a small village, housing several small cottages, in the city. Collaborations are being made with international bodies to make this possible.
The project hopes to attract as many as 800-1,000 artistes from across the world in the next edition of the festival.
On Saturday, Rajasthani musician Kutle Khan with his team, Playback singer Aditi Singh Sharma, Indi-Rock band from Delhi Bandish and DJ Aqeel will make the evening a memorable one through their exhilarating performances while Kaustav Songman, a known playback singer, will host the grand festival.
