One week after their second defeat of the season against Sparta, Dutch football league leaders Feyenoord Rotterdam bounced back with a 5-2 win over AZ Alkmaar here.
Nicolai Jorgensen on Sunday produced a hat-trick for Feyenoord as the Danish top-scorer of the Eredivisie extended his tally to 18 goals, reports Xinhua news agency.
Jens Toornstra and Dirk Kuyt also scored for the home team, while Derrick Luckassen and Wout Weghorst were responsible for the AZ goals.
Also on Sunday, second-placed side AFC Ajax beat FC Twente 3-0 in Amsterdam. After a lackluster first half, Ajax sliced open the defence as Amin Younes finished a cross by Davy Klaassen, Kasper Dolberg promoted a Younes pass to a goal and Dolberg scored an assist by Hakim Ziyech.
With eight rounds remaining, Feyenoord lead the Eredivisie table with 66 points, followed by Ajax (62) and PSV (58). Utrecht are fourth with 41 points.
