Italian Football Federation (FIGC) honoured national coach Claudio Ranieri by including him in its Hall of Fame for leading Leicester City to win the English Premier League title last season.
The former coach at Valencia and Atletico Madrid became the third Italian coach on Wednesday to receive this award after Roberto Mancini and former Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, reports Efe.
Ranieri was chosen by the FIGC for having won the English title with a team that two years earlier was in the Championship (second division) and which remained in the Premier League afterwards through a miracle in the last round.
Leicester's triumph is considered one of the most surprising and unexpected in the history of the game, with Ranieri also winning the FIFA coach of the year award on January 9.
