A fire broke out in the state-run Nil Ratan Sircar Medical College and Hospital here on Thursday, a fire department official said. No one was injured.
The blaze started in the paediatric medicine department at around 10 a.m.
Primary investigation revealed a short circuit might have caused the blaze at the hospital near Sealdah.
Three fire tenders were pressed into service. The blaze was brought under control within an hour.
