In an attempt to encourage young and budding authors, 'The Write Scene', an online portal to nurture the young talent will be organising the first International Young Author Awards 2017 in Dubai in October, 2017.
"We have conceptualised these awards for authors under the age of 30. Young authors needs appreciation and has to be encouraged to take up the literary work that can change the world. In the past six months since we seriously started working on these awards, we have got with us very credible names from the literary circles," said Deeba Salim Irfan, Founder, The Write Scene, in a statement.
Eminent authors like author and poet Keki N. Daruwala, literary agent Mita Kapur, author Namita Gokhale, former editor-in-chief of Femina Manju Ramanan and British journalist Gwyneth Rees, among others, will feature at the event.
Nominations for the awards are open for books written in English and published between January 1, 2015 and December 31, 2016.
