At least five Bahraini soldiers were killed on Friday on Saudi Arabia's southern border with Yemen, the Bahrain Defence Force general command announced.
"They were performing national duty defending the Saudi Arabia' s southern border with Yemen," said the command, without providing further details, Xinhua reported.
Bahrain, a member of a Saudi-led Arab coalition against Yemen's Shiite Houthi rebels, has battled Houthis since March to restore the rule of President Abedrabbo Mansour Hadi, exiled in Riyadh.
Houthis took control of Yemen's capital last Sanaa in September.
