Four members of a gang of thieves who were active in the National Capital Region (NCR) and the person to whom the stolen goods were sold were arrested, police said Tuesday.
They were involved in over 150 incidents of dacoity.
Those nabbed were identified as Rajender alias Buddha from Narela in Delhi, Deepu alias Dharmender and Om Prakash (both from Sultanpuri, Delhi) and Shyam Sunder from another colony in Delhi.
They were active in Gurgaon, Delhi, Faridabad and some other areas of the NCR.
Rajender was the gang leader and had been indulging in crime for over 12 years. He was arrested and jailed several times. He usually chose his new gang members from among the jail inmates he befriended.
"Gurgaon Crime Branch unit one chief Yashwant Singh and his team arrested them from different parts of the NCR. We are grilling them on police remand," Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Vivek Sharma told reporters.
