Five killed in Afghanistan as militants target car

At least five people were killed Friday and two injured when militants opened fire on a car in Afghanistan, media reported.

Police said the incident took place in Nangarhar province.

"Militants attacked a car, killing three male passengers and two children. Two people also got injured in the attack," Xinhua reported citing police spokesman Hazrat Hossain Mashriqiwal.

"The motive behind the attack is not known," Mashriqiwal said.
