At least five suspected militants were killed and 10 injured Friday when forces targeted hideouts in Pakistan's Khyber Agency.

According to officials, artillery and mortars were fired in the Sipah and Akakhel areas, Dawn online reported.

Sipah is a known stronghold of Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) while Akakhel too has a sizeable militant presence.

Pakistan's military launched the operation "Khyber-1" last month with air strikes against LI hideouts.
