Colombia international midfielder Orlando Berrio struck late as Flamengo secured a 1-0 away victory over 10-man Bahia in Brazil's Serie A football championship.
The hosts on Sunday were left with a numerical disadvantage when defender Lucas Fonseca was shown a second yellow card for a bad foul in the 30th minute, reports Xinhua news agency.
Berrio, introduced just after the hour mark as a replacement for Willian Arao, hit the target in the 73rd minute after an Everton Ribeiro cross.
The result at the Fonte Nova arena lifted Flamengo to third in the 20-team standings with 17 points from 10 matches while Bahia dropped to 17th with 10 points.
In other matches on Sunday, Atletico Paranaense beat Vitoria 4-1, Vasco da Gama overcame Atletico Goianiense 1-0, Cruzeiro defeated Coritiba 2-0, Corinthians won 1-0 at Gremio, Palmeiras beat Ponte Preta 2-1, Fluminense drew 1-1 at Sao Paulo and Atletico Mineiro beat Chapecoense 1-0.
