A massive forest fire in Chile's port city of Valparaiso has destroyed more than 100 homes and caused evacuations of thousands of residents.
President Michelle Bachelet has declared the port city a catastrophe zone. However, no deaths or serious injuries have yet been reported, Xinhua reported.
The La Cruz and Las Canas neighbourhoods were among port city areas the most affected by the Saturday blaze.
Emergency authorities said the strong Pacific coast wind has made the fire worse.
