A woman, said to be a former AAP member, has accused a party activist of harassment and others including senior leader Mayank Gandhi of trying to stop her from going to police. Police Saturday said they were probing while the AAP dismissed the charges.

The 21-year-old victim has charged at least one person of harasment and some others including Gandhi, the Aam Aadmi Party's city convenor, of dissuading her from approaching police with her grievances.

Oshiwara police confirmed that the FIR was lodged Friday and the matter is being investigated.

AAP spokesperson Preeti Menon-Sharma said that "the complaint is false and apparently motivated" by a former disgruntled party activist.

"The matter dates back to April when this woman complained about harassment by an activist during election campaigning. He was immediately suspendedr and the matter is still under internal probe by AAP," Menon-Sharma told IANS.

She added that despite repeated offers of assistance to help lodge a police complaint, the victim did not want to pursue the matter.

Police have not made any arrests in the case so far.
